The St. Mary of the Snow & St. Joseph Religious Education program provides instruction and sacrament preparation for children in grades 1 through 9. Our classrooms are located in the former St. Mary of the Snow School building at 25 Cedar Street.

• Our children in grades 1-6 attend classes once a week during the school year (on Wednesdays) from 6:00 to 7:30pm. Each grade level focuses on a different aspect of Catholic faith and life. The Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist are typically received during the second year of attending the education program.  
• The 7th and 8th graders participate in our Youth Alive program, which consists of various styles of learning over the course of 2 years.
• Our 9th graders, who are preparing for Confirmation participate in a Confirmation retreat before receiving the sacrament, usually in October.

New Students:  Please bring your child’s original baptismal certificate to the Religious Education office. (We will make a copy and return the original to you.) If your family is new to the Religious Education program, please visit or contact the Parish Office. Please be sure to provide us with the date and place of First Reconciliation and First Communion if applicable. If you are new to the Parish and are not registered in the Parish, please contact the Parish Office. All Religious Education families must be registered in the parish.

Any family with a child entering first grade or any family with a child new to the program must register in person at the Parish Office. Please bring your child’s Birth Certificate, Baptismal Certificate and certificates for any other sacraments that have been received. 

Communion Fee: $40 due* by March 1 of the year receiving Communion.

Confirmation Fee:  $100  due* by May 1, 2024.

*  No child is ever turned away from our Religious Education Program due to financial constraints. Contact our office to make arrangements for a payment plan, reduced tuition/fees, etc. Please do not postpone registration due to financial concerns.

Mass Policy:
All families of religious education students are expected to ensure that their children attend Mass every Sunday, with exceptions only due to serious impediments such as severe illness. Attending Mass and participating in the liturgy is a crucial part of their faith formation.
